It's a busy week for Chevy Chase. Here are some of the things going on:

The meeting will include discussions about Montgomery County's pending legislation regulating accessory apartments, the village's proposed modifications to the noise ordinance regulating portable and permanent electric generators and the Maryland State Highway Administration's response to the village's request for a marked pedestrian crossing on Connecticut Avenue at Lenox Street.

Board Chair Patricia Baptiste will also give an update on the Chevy Chase Lake Sector Plan.

2.) The Town of Somerset will hold a public forum—regarding a proposed storm water management ordinance—at the town hall (4510 Cumberland Ave.) on Monday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m.

3.) Several other meetings will take place as well:

  • The Village of Friendship Heights Council will meet at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at the Friendship Heights Village Center.
  • The Town of Chevy Chase Council will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. at the town hall (4301 Willow Ln.).

4.) The District Sample Sale—the Washington, DC, region's premiere high-end bargain shopping event—will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the former Filene's Basement location at the Mazza Gallerie, in Friendship Heights (5300 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC). Read more about the sale on Chevy Chase Patch.

5.) With last week's rain behind us, we can look forward to a great week ahead, weather-wise. Expect sunny days with temperatures in the high 70s and 80s all week. Clouds and thunderstorms may return next weekend, according to Weather.com.
