3.) The Town of Chevy Chase Public Services Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall (4301 Willow Rd.).

Today in history: Three hundred and seventy-nine years ago (in 1633), Father Vincenzo Maculano da Firenzuola, appointed by Pope Urban VIII, began the inquisition of Galileo Galilei, who had gotten himself into trouble with the Roman Catholic Church for stating that the planet Earth revolved around the sun.
