2.) The Town of Chevy Chase Town Council will meet at the town hall (4301 Willow Ln.) at 7 p.m. On the agenda: derecho "storm recap and response" and a public hearing on an ordinance to amend the town's building regulations regarding guardrails and handrails.
3.) The council of the Village of Chevy Chase Section 3 will meet at 7:45 p.m. in room 109 of the Chevy Chase United Methodist Church.
4.) Listen to the south-of-the-border music of the Mariachis de Los Compadres at a live concert at the Friendship Heights Village Center from 7 to 8 p.m.
5.) Today in history: Two hundred and eight years ago (in 1804), Vice President Aaron Burr fatally shot Alexander Hamilton, "his long-time political antagonist," in a duel in Weehawken, NJ. "Hamilton, a leading Federalist and the chief architect of America's political economy, died the following day," History.com reported.
