1.) Temperatures will be in the 80s with an 80 percent chance of rain, according to Weather.com. This weekend, temperatures will be in the high 70s, with a 10 percent chance of rain, Weather.com adds.

2.) The speaker at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School's graduation on Monday will be David Simon—journalist, author, producer of HBO’s "The Wire" and a B-CC alumnus. The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. at the DAR Constitution Hall, and will be broadcast on DAR's website.

5.) Today in history: Thirty-two years ago (in 1980), the Cable News Network, better known as CNN, became the world's first 24-hour television news network when it debuted at 6 p.m. EST. "In its first years of operation, CNN lost money and was ridiculed as the Chicken Noodle Network," History.com reported.
