The deadline for filing a "Declaration of Intent" to seek a nomination in the general presidential election by petition or from a non-primary political party is this Friday, June 29, at 5 p.m. The filing must be done in-person at the Maryland State Board of Elections, 151 West St., Annapolis. 5.) Today in history: One hundred and thirty-two years ago (in 1880), humanitarian Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia, AL. Despite becoming deaf and blind in 1882, Keller learned to read Braille and to communicate (including reading lips and speaking), and she graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904.
