Advice on Facing Random Shooter: Run, Hide, Fight
Department of Homeland Security funds realistic video on how to face a random shooting incident and survive.
Police jurisdictions have released a video funded by the Department of Homeland Security on how to survive a situation like that faced last month by moviegoers in Aurora, CO, and at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin -- a person with a gun set on shooting random victims.
The advice, given in a movie-like scenario complete with fake blood spatter, screams and office workers armed with metal folding chairs, boils down to these three priorities in this order: run, hide, fight.
The video was produced by the City of Houston Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security, and information about it was released Monday by the Prince George's County Police Department.
What would you do if faced with a gunman at your workplace or house of worship? Tell us in comments.

If it comes down to fighting, be sure the shooter does not survive. Otherwise he or she will sue you for assault.

It says something about our country that the government has to put out a video like this.
