A man attempted to steal property from a woman in the garage elevator, police said.

A man attempted to rob a woman in the popular Bethesda-Elm garage, a public parking garage near busy Bethesda Row, according to Montgomery County police.

The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. Nov. 1, according to a recent crime summary provided by Montgomery County police.

A woman was riding in the garage's elevator, and when the doors opened, a man unsuccessfully tried to steal property from her, said county police spokeswoman Angela Cruz.

Police are describing the suspect as a male, between 23 and 28 years old, about six feet tall and between 180 and 190 pounds, wearing cornrows and a blue work uniform.

There's been no arrests so far in the case, Cruz said.

Wow. This is unsettling on the heels of what was happening on the trail. Is there a composite sketch ? The description is rather vague.
