Barneys New York Co-Op to Close
Bethesda Magazine reported that the trendy boutique on the "Rodeo Drive of the East Coast" will close this summer.
High-end shops comprise The Collection at Chevy Chase (5471-5481 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, MD), also known as "The Rodeo Drive of the East Coast."

Bethesda Magazine reported that Barneys New York Co-Op on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase will close in August.
The company has not sent out an official customer email or letter yet, the magazine added.
The store opened in The Collection at Chevy Chase six years ago, Bethesda Magazine said. The next-closest Barneys New York Co-Op to Chevy Chase is located at 3040 M St. NW. in Georgetown, Washington, DC.

It looks like there's a building permit on what was Max Mara—to the left of Dior. Do you know if there is anything going in there?

Hi Ted,
I'm not sure - I saw that permit, but haven't heard of anything yet - the permit didn't specify anything. I did a short "Visions for Vacancies" on it a week or so ago. If you have any thoughts on what might work best there, or what you wish would move in, feel free to add them into the comment section of this post: http://chevychase.patch.com/articles/patch-asks-what-should-move-in-to-the-collection#c. (I'm gathering comments on various vacancies in Friendship Heights, with the hope of noting some trends in what folks would like to see in the neighborhood.)
