Capital One Down 1 in Friendship Heights

Capital One bank branches in Friendship Heights and Bethesda are slated to close this fall.

Of the many Capital One bank branches closing soon, one of them is in Friendship Heights.

Another is in Bethesda.

At least 10 branches of the McLean, VA-based bank will close across the country, and four of the closures will be in the Washington, DC, area, Washington Business Journal reported.

The Friendship Heights location at 5476 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, will close in October, and the Bethesda location at 7700 Old Georgetown Rd. will close on Nov. 17, Washington Business Journal added.

"The company also disclosed last month that it plans to cut 80 jobs at its Bethesda facility in November," Washington Business Journal added.

Capital One completed its acquisition of Chevy Chase Bank in 2009, and officially changed the signage of all the former Chevy Chase banks in September 2010, including 137 in Maryland and two in Chevy Chase, Chevy Chase Patch reported.
