Where To Celebrate New Year's Eve in Bethesda

Ring in 2013 in style -- close to home.

 

New Year's Eve is fast approaching, and if you're still clueless about what to do, check out these fun options close to home -- from low-key to extravagant.

 

What/Where: “A Night on the Town” at DoubleTree Bethesda

When: 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve

Highlights: This event is themed around cities across the nation and features an open bar, food stations located in “city-themed” venues, a DJ and a dance floor, live jazz, dance lessons, photography, a movie theater, and a champagne toast.

Cost: $99 per person. VIP specials for $289 and $339 per couple include deluxe guest rooms. Tickets must be reserved in advance.

 

What/Where: Mezza Madness Celebration at Lebanese Taverna

When: 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve

Highlights: Nosh on more than 20 traditional mezza, from lamb and chicken to hummus, as well as dessert. Enjoy two interactive belly-dancing performances and ring in the New Year with a champagne toast.

Cost: $75 per person plus tax and gratuity. Make reservations online or call 703.841.1511. 

 

What/Where: New Year’s Eve at Jaleo

When: Dinner service with full menu and New Year’s specials is from 5:30 to 7 p.m., second seating begins at 8 p.m.

Highlights: Enjoy a special tasting menu beginning at 8 p.m. and a band beginning at 9 p.m. Per Spanish tradition, each guest will receive a glass of cava and 12 grapes at midnight.

What/Where: Last Dance in Old Havana New Year’s Eve Party at Redwood

When: Early bird dinner package available through 6 p.m.; Havana Party starts at 9 p.m.

Highlights: This evening of dinner and dancing will be themed around 1950s Havana. Enjoy a three-course fixed priced menu with a tropical flare and a champagne toast. Later, the “Havana Party” will feature live music, photography, a heated outdoor bar, casino games and a hand rolled cigar.

Cost: Dinner and dancing package, which includes access to Havana Party, is $78 per person. Early Bird dinner package is $45. The “Havana Party Package,” at $56, doesn’t include dinner but includes access to the party and two complimentary themed cocktails.

What/where: 4935 Bar and Kitchen’s Skyfall New Year’s Eve event

When: 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve

Highlights: Celebrate New Year’s Eve at one of Bethesda’s newest restaurants. Admission at 8 p.m. includes a buffet until 10 p.m. and open bar until 2 a.m. 10 p.m. admission includes open bar. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Give Max Love Project, and donations will be accepted during the event.

Cost: 8 p.m. admission is $85 and 10 p.m. admission is $65. Shuttle service to and from the Westfield Montgomery Mall is available for an extra $10. Make reservations online.

 

What/where: Little Black Dress Ball at Union Jack’s

When: 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve

Highlights: General admission to the event will feature heavy hors d'oeurves from 8-10 p.m., three drink tickets, a DJ and dancing, champagne toast at midnight and a late night continental breakfast. A VIP ticket will feature an open bar.

Cost: General admission is $35, but the price will go up closer to the event. Call 301.652.2561 to reserve tickets or reserve online.

 

What/where: Lucky Number 13 New Year’s Eve event at BlackFinn Bethesda

When: 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve

Highlights: Enjoy a dinner buffet from 8-10 p.m., Vegas-themed cocktails, a champagne toast at midnight and party favors. One lucky winner will receive a trip to Vegas.

Cost: Tickets are $20, and $35 includes three drink tickets. Reserve online or call the restaurant at 301.951.5681.

 

What/Where: Dance Bethesda’s New Year’s Eve Gala at The Washington Club

When: 8 p.m.

Highlights: This black tie event hosted by Dance Bethesda is set for Dupont Circle’s The Washington Club. The evening will feature dinner, an open bar, dancing, performances, and a DJ playing a  variety of Latin, Swing, Ballroom, and nightclub hits. Valet parking is included.

Cost: Call 301.951.3660 for ticket pricing information and to make a reservation.
