Chevy Chase has made it into yet another elite ranking, this time of the 50 richest ZIP codes in the country.

According to a study by Gadberry Group for Businessweek.com, the Chevy Chase ZIP code 20815 is the 47th-richest ZIP in the country.

The average household income in Chevy Chase is $229,407, and the average household net worth is $1,346,065, according to the study.

Gadberry examined all ZIP codes in the U.S. "with more than 100 households and ranked them by the average income and net worth of their households," according to Businessweek.com.

Included in the results, which focused more on primary residences than on secondary homes, are many communities around New York City, Silicon Valley and Washington, DC.

There are about 47,000 ZIP codes in the country, according to www.carrierroutes.com.

Nearby Chevy Chase, Potomac, MD, is No. 29 on the richest-ZIP list; Fairfax Station, VA, is No. 48; McLean, VA, is No. 25 and Great Falls, VA, is No. 12.

The richest ZIP code in the country? Palm Beach, FL, where average household income is $370,136 a year, and the average household net worth is $1,486,123.

Chevy Chase recently ranked as one of the brainest places in the country by the "On Numbers" column of The Business Journals, which also ranked Chevy Chase as one of the most affluent places in the country.
