Down in the District: Top Headlines from HuffPost DC
Ever wonder what our neighbors to the south are up to? Here's a cheat sheet.
We know: Montgomery County's the best place in the area to live, work, play, learn and eat. Though, sometimes, we get a yen to peek into the lives of our neighbors to the south. You know, the ones living in that tiny, little place called Washington, DC?
Here's a cheat sheet of what's going on in the District.
- Stuff your face, Become a Redskin: Go a bit over your daily calorie allotment? Don’t feel even a lit bit bad—if you were training to play tackle for the Redskins, you’d be expected to eat upwards of 7,000 calories every day.
- Who says DC’s not a foodie town? Not Bon Appetite: Dupont Circle's own Little Serow, a Thai restaurant, made notoriously picky Bon Appetite’s list of the 10 best new restaurants. See the entire list here.
- While you’re deciding how you’ll vote on Maryland’s gay marriage referendum: There’s a woman in DC who got married—and divorced—to seven different men in one day. Watch the spectacle, err, art show, which took place at the Corcoran Gallery last week, on her Tumblr page.
- Some schools are librarian-less in DC: DC Public Schools made a decision not to provide librarians for schools with fewer than 300 students, which will leave 58 schools librarian-less. Parents of one elementary school have started a Change.org petition to at least provide a part-time librarian to all schools.
