Favorite Baltimore Deli to Open Potomac Location

Attman's Deli could open as early as May in the Cabin John Shopping Center.

The reputedly “World Famous” Attman’s Deli in Baltimore will soon open a second home in Potomac.

The Twitter-verse has been swirling with rumors that a new location of the popular Baltimore eatery will be opening soon in Potomac’s Cabin John Shopping Center. Attman’s own Twitter and Facebook accounts have confirmed the location, opening in May near the Giant Food store in the shopping center.

The Cabin John Shopping Center website has the store listed as "coming soon."

The deli has been a fixture of Baltimore's famous Corned Beef Row for 97 years, serving traditional New York deli fare like pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, latkes, bagels and more.

Tell us what you think of the move. Will the deli do well in the Potomac location?

With the fizzling of Deli Wars (http://bethesda.patch.com/articles/bethesda-deli-wars) since both closed, we really needed a Jewish-style deli. Attmans is about the best possible addition. We would drive to Baltimore just to get great deli. Now it will be within 5 miles of home!

Who knows, maybe another will open and we'll have a re-kindled deli wars. Thanks for the comment, David -- and happy belated birthday!

That's great news! I traveled to Balto. over the summer for a pastrami sandwich and wasn't disappointed. I'm exited!

I wonder if the line in Potomac will stretch around corners like it does in Baltimore... How long did you wait for pastrami, Suzanne?

Now, if Atman were to be a Kosher deli, it would do fabulous. But if not, well, who knows.
