Why Go: Austin singer/songwriters Charlie Faye and Will Sexton will perform in the center’s yoga studio to benefit the Mind-Body for Cancer program. The  performance will include songs from Faye’s new album, “Travels With Charlie,” recorded over a 10-month tour of ten cities.

2. YOGA ON BETHESDA AVENUE

Where/When: 8:30-9:30a.m. June 25, along Bethesda Avenue in front of Lululemon

Why Go: Help mark the re-opening of Bethesda’s Lululemon store and honor the memory of slain store employee Jayna Murray. Bethesda Avenue will be closed for an outdoor community yoga practice set to live music.

Where/When: 10a.m.-4p.m. June 25 at Bethesda Green

Why Go: Check out this free expo to learn more about using solar power in your home, hear from neighbors living with solar, meet local solar companies and test your home’s readiness for solar with satellite mapping. Activities for kids are also planned.

4. BETHESDA PAINTING AWARDS EXHIBITION

Where/When: noon to 6p.m. June 24 and 25 at Artery Plaza Gallery, 7200 Wisconsin Avenue

Why Go: It’s your last chance this weekend to check out the work of finalists in the Bethesda Painting Awards, Bethesda’s annual juried art competition. The exhibition wraps up Saturday.

5. HERITAGE MONTGOMERY

Where/When: noon-4p.m. June 24 at 25 at historic sites across Montgomery County

Why Go:  Sponsored by Heritage Montgomery, the 14^th annual Heritage Days Weekend is a free event that will feature historic and Civil War-themed events and activities at 35 sites across the county. Check out Heritage Montgomery’s website for more information on events going on at the Josiah Henson Special Park, Glen Echo Park and the Clara Barton Historic Site.
