1. YMCA MOONLIGHT SWIM AND MOVIE NIGHT

Where/When: 9-11p.m.. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase YMCA

Why Go:  Check out a free moonlight swim and “dive-in” movie under the stars at the B-CC YMCA.

Pricing: Free for members; $10 for a single guest and $20 for guest family of four.

2. MONTGOMERY COUNTY AGRICULTURAL FAIR

Where/When: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg; 10 a.m. to midnight daily through Saturday, Aug. 20.

Why Go: It’s your last chance to catch the Ag Fair festivities this weekend. Ride the ferris wheel, eat cotton candy, learn about farm animals and more at the 63rd annual fair. A detailed schedule of events is posted on the fair's website.

Pricing: General admission is $10, and children 11 and under are free. Rides and food cost extra.

3. BREAKFAST WITH BETHESDA GREEN

Where/When: 9:30a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at Bethesda Green

Why Go: Enjoy a homemade, locally sourced breakfast and listen to a panel discussion focused on local food as a part of Bethesda Green’s On the Farm, Around the Table series. The breakfast will be followed by a trip to the Bethesda Central Farm Market for a visit with founder Mitch Berliner.

Pricing: $30. Reserve online early; seating is limited to 30 people.

4. FIREFIGHTER STAIR CLIMB AT NORTH BETHESDA MARKET

Where/When: 9a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at  the North Bethesda market tower, 11418 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda.

Why Go: Support local firefighters who will climb 110 stories in honor of their 343 colleagues who died during the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, nearly ten years ago. The fundraiser will benefit the IAFF Burn Foundation.

Pricing: Donations will be accepted at the event, or donate online.

5. EAT OUT DURING D.C. RESTARUANT WEEK

Where/when: Through Aug. 21 at more than 200 Washington-area restaurants. Locally, Bezu in Potomac, Jaleo and Redwood in Bethesda, and La Tasca in Rockville will feature special menus.

Why go: If you missed Bethesda-Chevy Chase Restaurant Week, it’s your last chance to get bargain-priced discounts at your favorite restaurants close to home and in Washington, D.C. during D.C. Restaurant Week.

Pricing: Two-course lunches are $20.11, and three-course dinners are $35.11.
