Get Out: Ideas For the Weekend
Golf, baseball, theater, concerts and a Bethesda Lane happy hour round out the weekend in Bethesda.
1. Best of Washington Happy Hour
Where/When: 6 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood along Bethesda Lane.
Why Go: Presented by AT&T and Washingtonian Magazine, the Best of Washington Happy Hour will take over Bethesda Lane Wednesday evening. Enjoy drinks at Redwood and peruse Bethesda Lane for food samples from great local restaurants including Luke’s Lobster, Jaleo, Vapiano and more.
Pricing: A $10 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at the door will get you a Redwood drink ticket and four tasting tickets.
2. Free Summer Concert in Veterans Park
Where/When: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Park at Woodmont and Norfolk Avenues
Why Go: Enjoy free concerts every Thursday for much of the summer, presented by the Bethesda Urban Partnership. This week, enjoy the soul and jazz sounds of Patrice.

3. Bethesda Big Train Baseball Games
Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Bethesda’s Shirley Povich Field, 10600 Westlake Drive
Why Go: Support Bethesda’s own summer collegiate baseball team. This weekend, you’ll have three games to choose from, with Hometown Heroes Night on Thursday, Super Hero Night on Friday and Health Night on Saturday.

4. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at Imagination Stage
Where/When: 10:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday, and 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at Imagination Stage. Performances are ongoing through August.
Why Go: C.S. Lewis’ beloved children’s book will be brought to life onstage, in partnership with the Washington Ballet. The summer production is a fusion of dance, theater, and puppetry.
Price: $10 to $27
Where/When: Through July 1 at Congressional Country Club
Why Go: Tiger Woods’ golf tournament – and Tiger himself – return to Congressional this week, bringing 120 of the top PGA Tour professionals to compete right in our backyard.
