1.) New Year's Eve Labyrinth Walk
Where/When: 6-9p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, 9601 Cedar Lane in Bethesda
Why Go: Enjoy a contemplative New Year's Eve with a walk through Cedar Lane's beautiful indoor labyrinth. The candlelit event will feature live piano and harp music by Meg Baker.

2.) New Year's Eve Celebration at Redwood
Where/When: Saturday evening at Redwood restaurant, 7121 Bethesda Lane in Bethesda
Why Go: Redwood is hosting a can't-miss James Bond-themed New Year's Eve party that will feature cocktails and a five-course meal themed after the famed British spy. Dancing and a champagne toast at midnight will follow.

Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29. and Friday, Dec. 30; 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, at the Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney Sandy Spring Road in Olney.
Why Go: Paul Morella returns to Olney Theatre Center to bring his unique and memorable solo performance of "A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas." Theatre enthusiasts will love this rendition of an integral part of Christmas tradition and folklore. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

4.) New Year’s Eve at the Fillmore
Where/When: 8 p.m. at the Fillmore, 8656 Colesville Road in Silver Spring
Why Go: Ring in the new year in style at Silver Spring’s newest music venue. Little Feat will perform.

5.) Dance Bethesda’s New Year’s Eve Gala
Where/When: Dance Bethesda dance studio
Why Go: Cocktails start at 8 p.m. and dancing lasts till 1 a.m. during Dance Bethesda’s “Elegance of Bethesda” gala. Enjoy a buffet, prizes, champagne, and performances.
