H&M Coming to Chevy Chase Pavilion
One of the world's largest clothing retailers will open a location in the Chevy Chase Pavilion this fall.
H&M, one of the world's largest clothing retailers, will open a store in the Chevy Chase Pavilion this fall, after the renovations currently underway at the shopping center are complete, according to a store press release.
The lease that H&M has signed includes 21,704 square feet—two floors—in the Chevy Chase Pavilion, which sits on the Washington, DC, side of the Maryland-DC border in Friendship Heights, the press release added.
H&M, established in Sweden in 1947, operates more than 2,500 stores across the globe. It entered the U.S. market in 2000 and now has more than 200 stores in 30 states. The Chevy Chase store will be its fourth inside the Capital Beltway, according to the press release.
“The Washington D.C. metro area shoppers have proven to be strong supporters of our brand, and H&M could not be more thrilled to bring yet another full concept location to the region," said Daniel Kulle, U.S. president of H&M.
Chuck Kemp, senior vice president for Clarion Partners, which manages the property, added that “the addition of this high-profile retailer combined with the current renovations positions the property at the forefront of mixed-use destinations in Chevy Chase and Washington, D.C."
"We expect to attract additional tenants like H&M as we move forward with the improvements," he added.
