Land Company Donates $3,000 to Library
The Chevy Chase Land Company will donate $3,000 to the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library.
The Chevy Chase Land Company will donate $3,000 to the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library, the company recently reported on its Chevy Chase Lake blog.
Earlier this month, the company asked local residents to fill out an online survey, as part of the company's effort to gather local thoughts and opinions about the company's plans for the development of its property in the Chevy Chase Lake neighborhood, at Connecticut Avenue between Jones Bridge Road and Chevy Chase Lake Drive.
For every online survey that community members filled out on the company's website, the company pledged to donate $5 to the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library. With 581 surveys completed, "[t]hat comes out to $2,905 for the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library, but we’ll just round that up to an even $3,000," the company said on its Chevy Chase Lake blog.
The company expects to have a report or blog post ready in mid-February about the survey results.
While the survey is over, community members are welcome to comment on the Chevy Chase Lake development at any time though the company's website. Click on the red-orange "Send Us Your Feedback" button on the left-hand side of the company's Chevy Chase Lake blog homepage to send your thoughts to the company.
Or, for a more personal interaction, join company representatives at a happy hour on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Tavira. Happy hour attendees will have "a chance to see some of the latest proposals for Chevy Chase Lake, ask questions, and chat with your neighbors," the company added.
Although the plans for the development are still evolving, the tallest building in the approximately 1.5-million-square-foot development will be the existing building in which Tavira is located—the 150-foot-tall office building at 8401 Connecticut Ave., said Lisa Fadden, the company’s vice president of public affairs, Patch reported last month.
