Politics & Prose Bookstore staff went "all out" for Halloween 2012, dressing up in costumes influenced by the literary, political and pop cultural worlds, Lacey Dunham, the independent bookstore's marketing director, told Patch.
Characters represented included:
- Front row, left to right: Miss Havisham from Great Expectations, Eloise, Harriet the Spy, co-owners Bradley Graham and Lissa Muscatine as Uncle and Aunt Sam, Fidel Castro, blue jeans, and Bert from Mary Poppins.
- Back row, left to right: Trotsky, Justin Bieber, Hermione from Harry Potter, the woman whose head falls off when she removes the green ribbon around her neck from Alvin Schwartz’s illustrated children’s classic In a Dark, Dark Room, New York Times critic Michiko Kakutani and Lieutenant Uhura from Star Trek.
