For the new projects in Bethesda, the architects who have designed and the developers who have hired them ought to be terminated. There isn't a decent looking new building in the entire community. The buildings are overwhelming, ugly, unfriendly, utilitarian and no better than the old ugly 50's /60's style buildings that dominated Bethesda prior to this development. Horrendous is the term for the new look of Bethesda. A huge opportunity lost to a bland, corporate vision.

Michael how about you design your own building with an architect come up with the funding for and it then have it constructed. Oh wait its easier to complain.

Frank - Thanks for the feedback. We added Christ Lutheran - although they have not yet filed a development proposal, they did receive a zoning change. The preliminary approval for Auburn Ave. has lapsed and they would need to re-file. Rugby Condominiums project is transferring density to 4900 Fairmont, so that will project will soon be off the books too. However, 4823 Rugby is still valid, so we added that to the map.

Traffic and lack of parking are problematic enough in Bethesda. Who except the developers needs these "mixed-use projects?"

No complaints here, all this construction in and around Bethesda and Chevy Chase get's me excited. Yeah I do agree parking can get a little complicated. I try my best not to drive in and around Bethesda. I tend to walk 99% of the time.
