Media, Sports Celebrities To Compete During Big Train Charity Game
Tickets are on sale for the celebrity softball classic, which is set to go forward ahead of the summer collegiate baseball's team's season.
Big names in media and sports will go head to-head next month during the second annual Big Train Celebrity Softball Classic, a charity softball game organized by Bethesda’s summer collegiate baseball team.
Past and present Washington Redskins including Ryan Kerrigan, Chris Cooley, Lorenzo Alexander, Antwaan Randle El, and Kai Forbath are on the roster for the sports team, which will compete against media personalities from CBS, NBC, FOX, Comcast SportsNet, The Washington Post, and 106.7 The Fan.
The media team took a 3-2 loss last year, according to a Big Train news release.
The game is set for April 20, six weeks before the launch of the Big Train’s season. The Big Train has taken the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League Championship in three of the last four seasons and has donated more than $600,000 to improving baseball fields in Washington, DC and Montgomery County since 1998.
Tickets are available online for the Big Train Celebrity Softball Classic, which will also benefit construction and repair of baseball fields for local children. The game is set for 7 p.m. April 20th at Bethesda’s Shirley Povich Field.
