Patch Asks: What Should Replace Famoso?

What do you think should move into the former Famoso location, tucked away behind The Collection at Chevy Chase?

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning—Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

In this column, we'll present vacant buildings or lots, and ask you to tell us what you think would be their best use. Forget what zone they're in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other sleep-inducing zoning jargon. If you had your way, what would you like to see in these spots? What would be their best use for the community?

This week, we look at the former location of the Famoso restaurant (5471 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase). It was a local favorite in Friendship Heights, at the back of The Collection at Chevy Chase (also known as "The Rodeo Drive of the East Coast")—tucked away from the traffic and commotion of Wisconsin Avenue, yet so close to all the shops and businesses. It closed about a year ago.

What do you think should move in to where Famoso once was? Tell us in the comments.
