The public will get a chance to peek at a proposal for the redevelopment of 7100 Wisconsin Avenue, the site of an Exxon station, and 7120 Wisconsin Avenue during a public meeting set for Tuesday evening.

A proposed plan for the site -- located on the west side of Wisconsin between Miller and Woodmont avenues -- calls for a mixed-use development with up to 145 multi-family residential units, 7,000 square feet of non-residential uses, and underground parking.

The project would encompass more than 44,000 gross square feet, according to a public notice.

At the meeting, the community will get a chance to get a glimpse of the plans and pose their questions to developers.

The event is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in conference room B at the Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Services Center. It marks the second informational meeting held on the plans ahead a formal filing with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Eastham's Exxon is a Bethesa icon. A great example of how a business should be run and maintained.

I agree that Eastham's Exxon is an exemplary gas station. I will be very sad to see it go.

It is important to note that the presentation of a Development Team's proposed development in Bethesda to neighborhood groups affected by the proposed development is a necessary and sufficient condition for the Developer gaining project approval from the County Planning Board. Indeed that presentation is part of the County Planning Board's "Checklist".. Here in the Bethesda Central Business District there are at least 3 groups that regularly attend these Developer presentations: the Villages of Bethesda (VOB), the Downtown Bethesda Condo Association( DBCA) and the Montgomery County Civic Federation (MCCF).
