Reports of Romney Fundraiser in Potomac False
Check out what got Washington media aflutter Wednesday morning.
The DC media world got itself into an election-year tizzy today, when Politico reported that Dan Snyder planned to host a fundraiser for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Potomac.
He’s not.
Wednesday morning, Politico reporter Mike Allen wrote that “beloved Washington Redskins owner” Dan Snyder would host a fundraiser at his home in Potomac.
The Washington Post, DCist.com and other outlets quickly latched on to the item, detailing Snyder’s affiliation with the Republican Party and his history with the issues.
A few hours later, representatives for Romney’s campaign and for the Washington Redskins told media outlets the initial reports were wrong.
What do you think of all the hype? Would you have cared if Snyder were hosting a fundraiser at his home in Potomac?

He previously released a statement through Vinnie that he was not in Denver, talking to Mike Shanahan - for what it's worth.
