Royal Wedding Fever Hits the Downcounty

Union Jack's is gearing up to host an early-morning viewing party.

Can't get enough of the royal wedding? You're not alone, and you don't have to be to watch the big event, either.

Bethesda's own British pub, Union Jack's, is opening its doors early Friday morning for a royal wedding viewing party. Join your fellow wedding-obsessed friends and neighbors to watch as Prince William and Kate Middleton say their "I do's" on one of the pub's flat-screens.

The doors will open at 5:30a.m. and the royal event begins at 6a.m. -- 11a.m., London-side. Union Jack's is offering a free champagne toast, $10 bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys, and $5 Pimms Cups. Breakfast is being offered, too.

If you can't make it out of bed, from 5-7p.m., the pub will host a "Royal Ladies' Night." Women can shop with local businesses for lingerie, jewelry and body products and sign up to win prizes and gift certificates.

Stay tuned to Patch for coverage of the viewing party.
