SPEAK OUT: Alcohol at the Bethesda Row Cinema?
Would you grab a drink with your movie?
The Bethesda Row Cinema soon may begin serving alcohol at its cafe.
The news was first reported by Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer.
The cinema hopes to start serving alcohol by the spring, an employee confirms, and is working through the application process for a liquor license. It's not clear whether they'll serve liquor, or only beer and wine.
A hearing before the county's liquor board is set for Nov. 15, Dyer reports.
The cinema's parent company, Landmark, features a full bar at its popular E Street location in Washington, DC.
The cafe at E Street offers about 20 bottled beers and about 23 different wines served by the glass or bottle. Its liquor selection includes Bourbon, whiskey, rum, gin and Bailey's Irish Cream, among others.
Several luxury movie theaters planned for Bethesda—including Arclight Cinemas and Sliverspot Cinemas—will serve alcohol to their guests, Patch reported.
So, we want to know—are you glad the Bethesda Row Cinema is planning to start serving alcohol? Will serving alcohol boost sales there?
