Adaptation of the 1998 Life magazine Dream House design by the renowned Washington D.C. architect Hugh Newell Jacobson came about in 2005 when the home's owners collaborated with Anthony Wilder Design/Build, Inc., tore down their mid-century rambler, and created this Chevy Chase home.
Though built in 2006, this Cabin John house has a deliberate Craftsman-style feel and look inside and out. The award-winning back yard — overlooked by a screened-in porch — features a pool, fireplace and extensive landscaping.
European chateau-style home in Avenel is filled with French and British antiques, including a 16th century fireplace, a crystal chandelier, a harp and carved wood paneling.
This Potomac home features multiple rooms filled with museum quality collections including Staffordshire pottery, wooden canes, pipes (for smoking) and art of all types.
Soe Lin Associates transformed this Carderock house from a split entry to an elegant contemporary home, surrounded by woods. Watch for Asian-inspired touches and a well-planned cook’s kitchen.

Potomac and Bethesda homes will open their doors this weekend during Congregation Har Shalom’s fourth annual Potomac Spring House Tour.

For $25 a person, visitors can tour a European chateau, a modern craftsman-style residence, a mid-century rambler turned contemporary and more Sunday and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.PotomacHouseTour.org or at Congregation Har Shalom located at 11510 Falls Road, Potomac. Proceeds go to benefit local charities.
