Get your taste buds ready for the 23rd annual Taste of Bethesda, which will return to the Woodmont Triangle from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.
Seasoned festival participants and newbies alike will serve up food to more than 45,000 hungry event goers.
This year, more than 55 restaurants will take part, including 10 restaurants that have recently debuted on the Bethesda food scene. They include the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club, the Box Bar & Grill, Freddy’s Lobster, Kraze Burgers, Luke’s Lobster, The Majestic Bar & Grill, Nando’s Peri-Peri, Panas Gourmet Empanadas, Purée Artisan Juice Bar, and Tandoori Nights.
Yes, you heard right -- the as-yet-to-open Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club is on the roster, the much-anticipated new venture set to take over the Bethesda Theatre this fall.
The club will feature live entertainment and New Orleans-style cuisine.
“We’ve done a few catering events around town and we’ve had some people taste the food, but this will be one of our first entrees into the larger scale of Bethesda,” said Rick Brown of the Bethesda-based B & B Realty Investments, the theater's new owner.
Five stages of entertainment are also planned for the festival, which is set for Norfolk, Fairmont, St. Elmo, Cordell and Del Ray Avenues in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle.
"Taste" tickets are $5 for four tickets and a serving costs one to four tickets, according to the Bethesda Urban Partnership, which produces the festival.
