Wing Hub Re-Opens As Maggie's

The new restaurant will feature wings, sandwiches, pizza, cheese steaks and quesadillas, Bethesda Magazine's Table Talk blog reports.

Wing Hub has closed and re-opened as Maggie’s, a restaurant that got its start in Washington, DC’s Tenleytown neighborhood in 1950, Bethesda Magazine reports.

The Cordell Avenue restaurant will continue to serve up wings, but also will feature items including New York-style pizza, sandwiches, cheese steaks and quesadillas, according to Bethesda Magazine’s Table Talk blog.

Jeff Trilling, a minority owner of Wing Hub, bought out the two other owners and is re-creating the Tenleytown pizzeria that his father, Joe, owned from 1964 to 1979. The old Maggie’s remained open until 1998, Table Talk said.

The new Maggie's debuted July 9, acccording to Table Talk. A tiki bar is in the works for the restaurant’s outdoor patio.

Cool! It's good to know that there are those who acknowledge (and put their money where their mouth is) that many of us, who grew up in NW DC really do have a stake in and a memory of their youth.

Now, if Marriott would simply re-open a Hot Shoppe, featuring a Might Mo, Orange Freeze, and wet fries, I could put the top down and grab some on the way to a Nats game.
