9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance at Audubon Naturalist Society (ANS).

ANS, in partnership with Hands on Greater DC Cares and several corporate organizations, Jet Blue and Grant Thornton, as well as individual volunteers, came out to serve on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. Forty hands made project work fun and fast! We removed invasives, worked on stream naturalization and trail maintenance, restored our rain garden, created three compost stations and reworked our teaching garden, including installing deer fencing. And, we reflected on how nature can help us to heal. It was a wonderful day full of energetic volunteers who made a real difference to ANS and our mission.
