On the third Wednesday of the month, adults gather at the Friendship Heights Village Center (4433 S. Park Drive, Chevy Chase, MD) to listen to a professional storyteller telling stories. Come and enjoy this oldest of art forms—but watch out—it's habit forming.
This month, on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m., the free "Tales in the Village" storytelling series brings Donna Ingham, a warm, witty and funny storyteller, to Chevy Chase to kick off the 2012 season.
Don't miss Texas storyteller and Champion Liar, Donna Ingham. Her stories and her skilled telling of them will have you laughing until you are crying.
Featured storyteller Donna Ingham comes to "Tales in the Village" from Austin, TX. She gives the ancient art of storytelling a Lone Star twist with a unique repertoire of tales drawn from folklore and history, from personal narratives she's created about growing up as an only child, and from myths, legends and fairy tales she has Texanized and made truly her own.
Personal note: The first time I heard Donna Ingham tell one of her winning LIES, I laughed until it hurt. In November, I heard her telling more serious stories and I was deeply moved and mighty impressed by her skillful telling. I hope you can make it on Jan. 18. It will be a fine evening of good storytelling.
