Families are invited to an Open House at Norwood School, a coeducational indepenent school in Bethesda that uses the proven power of a K-8 education to inspire joy in learning and engage the whole child in a challenging and dynamic academic program. The event will provide the opportunity to go on a student-led tour of the facility, meet faculty members, discuss curriculum, and learn about Norwood's vision for learning in the 21st century. Children are most welcome at the Open House. A second Open House is scheduled for Saturday, January 12 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.

Norwood School, founded in 1952, is a coeducational independent K-8 school emphasizing academics, the arts, physical education, and character education. The school is situated on 39 acres of land with 2 libraries, 5 science labs, 2 computer labs, 4 art studios, 4 music rooms, a gym, and an athletic center. Norwood provides training in fundamental skills and logical and analytical thinking, while encouraging independence of mind, intellectual curiosity, growth, and creative self-expression. The curriculum emphasizes facility with reading, spoken and written language, and mathematics, and includes outstanding programs in art, music, physical education, science, social studies, technology and world languages.
