Enter the Bethesda Literary Festival Youth Writing Contest and tell us in your own words about one thing that you do well, how you perfected it, and why you like it.
Only hard copies (handwritten or typed) will be accepted. No faxes or e-mails will be accepted. The entry form must be completed and submitted with essay. Essays must be between 100-500 words in length. Writers must be in grades K-8 and students of schools located in, or residents of, Montgomery County, MD.
Up to 15 essays from grades K– 8 will be printed in Washington Parent magazine. Winners will be honored, along with their teacher, at a special event held during the Bethesda Literary Festival, April 19-21, 2013.
All entries must be postmarked on or before March 1, 2013.

More About Bethesda Urban Partnership
The Bethesda Urban Partnership contracts with Montgomery County to conduct marketing and events as well as maintenance for downtown Bethesda. The group also operates the Bethesda Circulator, a free shuttle that provides transportation in the downtown. Popular street festivals such as Taste of Bethesda and Imagination Bethesda are all coordinated by the urban partnership, which was founded in 1994. BUP also created Bethesda Transportation Solutions, which promotes alternative transportation in the downtown, and the Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District.
