Genesis 6-12 tells the story how Noah and his Ark survived a great flood. How do various cultures record the flood? When did it take place? Was it global or local? We'll look at Indian, Greek, Egyptian, Babylonian, Akkadian and Sumerian accounts. We'll also look at Abraham's puzzling description of his wife Sarah: "She is my sister."
Ann Treimann, who has a M.Div from Gordon Conwell Theologiacal Seminary and is a former Vice President of Lehman and Salomon Brothers is our speaker.

More About Concord St. Andrews United Methodist Church
Known as the "church on the hill," Concord St. Andrews United Methodist Church sits above the intersection of River and Goldsboro roads in Bethesda. Founded in 1956, the church offers religious education for children and adults and a cooperative nursery school. Members also conduct outreach locally and internationally. The church community supports a primary school in Kenya and missionary families in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nicaragua. On Wednesdays during produce season members set up a popular farmer's market in the church parking lot.
