Suburban Hospital Honors Planning Director with Friend of Nursing Award

Brian Ebbitt, director of planning and project management at Suburban Hospital, received its annual Friend of Nursing Award for his work with nurses throughout the year.

BETHESDA, Md. (May 31, 2013) – Brian Ebbitt, director of planning and project management at Suburban Hospital, received its annual Friend of Nursing Award for his work with nurses throughout the year. Ebbitt, of Germantown, Md., has worked at Suburban Hospital for four years.

Hospital nursing leadership selected Ebbitt for his collaboration with nursing staff to establish a nursing strategic plan, and his instrumental assistance in the establishment of the hospital's current nursing council structure.

“In my role as a Planner & Project Manager I often remind staff about our mission and vision, but it’s rare for planners to have an ability to directly impact patient care,” Ebbitt said. “I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to work closely with our senior leadership and all of the nursing councils and nurses here at Suburban.”  He noted, “We collectively develop the structures and processes that ensure that our patients receive the highest levels of quality and compassionate care – it’s all about the patient.”
