DOGS AT PLAY - FREE WORKSHOP

Robin Bennett's workshop, "Dogs at Play - at dog parks, day care, or your own neighborhood" has been changed from next Saturday to next Sunday, March 23. The workshop will still be from 1:30 - 3:30pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6030 Grosvenor Lane in Bethesda.
Trainer Robin Bennett is co-author of Off-Leash Dog Play: A Complete Guide to Safety & Fun, a consultant to doggie day cares, and developer of a website that educates pet professionals about dog safety. So, who better to explain how dogs communicate with each other (and us) when playing? Robin will show videos of dogs at play, while pointing out polite and rude greetings, breed-specific play styles, social gestures, and emotional states. You will learn how dogs say “back off” or “I don’t want to be here”; how dogs feel if a fight breaks out nearby or a new dog wants to join in; how to tell if dogs are just playing hard or bordering on aggression. She will give advice on how to choose the best day care; when it’s time to leave the dog park; and, most importantly, how to keep your dog safe at play.
