Rev. Anne Benefield kicked off Geneva Presbyterian Church’s 50th Jubilee Anniversary by surprising every adult with a $50 dollar bill and every child with a $5 dollar bill.

The congregation was then instructed to take the gift and spend it in a way that would “pay it forward” and bring glory to God.  Examples: to answer someone’s prayer who is in need; to reward a do-gooder in the community; to support a local or international ministry, such as Gaithersburg Helps or Manna Food; or perhaps to give to a charity, which helps provide relief from current catastrophes and/or tragedies.

Mission is an integral aspect of Geneva’s ministry.  Rev. Anne asked everyone to accomplish the task by December 1, 2013 and then return with their stories and share how they chose to invest their mission gift during this Year of Jubilee.
