Little Falls Village Now Helping Seniors in Nine Bethesda Neighborhoods
Little Falls Village is the newest “neighbor-helping-neighbor” program in Bethesda. This non-profit organization launched on July 29th and is now providing volunteer assistance to help seniors to “age-in-place” - that is, to stay in their homes longer.
Little Falls Village joins other villages in our area including those in Bannockburn, Chevy Chase, Burning Tree and Potomac.
Little Falls Village serves seniors in the nine neighborhoods between Massachusetts Avenue and MacArthur; Goldsboro and Western Avenue. The neighborhoods include Sumner, Sumner Place, Fort Sumner, Sumner Village, Westmoreland Hills, Glen Echo Heights, Mohican Hills, Glen Mar Park and Tulip Hill.

With more than 65 members, Little Falls Village has more than 40 trained volunteers providing a variety of non-medical services including:
- Transportation to and from appointments, grocery shopping, and routing errands.
- Light household tasks such as, minor repairs, collecting mail, watering plants, gardening or helping with pets.
- Simple bookkeeping, mail management, computer or other technology assistance.
- One-on-one companionship including, reading, attending social events, classes, movies, theater or playing games together.
- The Village also plans and hosts a variety of social events.
