St John's Episcopal Church Blessing of the Animals

St. John's Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish, commemorates the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of animals and the environment, on Sunday, October 6.

At 5 pm, the Annual Blessing of the Animals takes place during the church's regular, informal evening worship service.   Everyone is welcome, and all pets are welcome into the sanctuary.  Clergy offer individual blessings to every pet and their human guardian.  If your pet is more of a homebody, pictures of your beloved family member are also welcome, and will also be blessed.  Furry, feathered, finned or otherwise "suited" animals are all equally welcomed!  Stuffed animals are also very much encouraged to attend.  All are welcome to stay for the complete service, but if your pet prefers, there is no problem with just staying for the blessings.

Come celebrate the joy, love, and companionship of the animals that enrich our lives as such loving and integral parts of our families.
