WATKINS RESEARCH GROUP RANKS CRESA NUMBER ONE IN CLIENT ADVOCACY

August 27, 2013 (Bethesda, MD) – Cresa, North America’s leading tenant representation firm, ranked first in client advocacy among 23 firms evaluated, according to the Watkins Research Group in its bi-annual survey of commercial real estate firms.

More than 200 senior corporate real estate executives responded to the survey, which measured perception, brand awareness, service-delivery models and customer satisfaction.

One of the key metrics reported is the Client Advocate Score (CAS), which is an indication of whether or not a company’s clients are advocating usage of the company to their peers.

It is determined by measuring how many more clients are likely to recommend (advocates) than not recommend (detractors). In this key metric, Cresa ranked number one, with a score of 75.4. The next most-highly ranked commercial real estate firm received a score of 27.6, and only three firms achieved a positive score.

In addition to having the top ranking in client advocacy, Cresa also achieved the following:
•When rated on whether or not the service provider “adds to the bottom line” and “has a strong client orientation,” Cresa beat all 22 competitors
•When rated on 10 key criteria that are important to clients, Cresa ranked second
•In these 10 key criteria, Cresa rated first or second in seven of the 10 factors
•Cresa ranked among the top-five best commercial real estate firms in the industry

CEO Jim Leslie said, “Cresa has always been a strong advocate for its clients, and we are deeply grateful that they are strong advocates for us as well. As an exclusive tenant representation firm, we avoid conflicts of interest associated from working for both landlords and tenants, which allows us to always do the right thing for our clients. I believe that is why they are so eager to recommend us.”

In the local marketplace, Cresa Washington DC, based in Bethesda and with additional offices in Baltimore, the District of Columbia and McLean, is experiencing solid growth.

So far in 2013, Cresa Washington DC has brought on board three new tenant advisers, for a current total of 38, and it may hire an additional five to 10 brokers by year’s end. “We’re looking for talented individuals who fit within the collaborative culture that we’ve firmly established here,” says Rich Rhodes, a Cresa Washington DC managing principal who is also chair of Cresa’s national board of directors.

To that end, the firm recently announced that, come September 1, it is moving its existing Washington location to a larger space, at 1800 M St. NW, to accommodate the ongoing expansion of its tenant-advisory team.
