Bethesda's Drybar Featured in Washington Post Peep Contest

The salon opened two DC area locations this year, one in Georgetown and one in Bethesda.

Drybar, a new Bethesda business, was the subject of a Peeps diorama submitted to The Washington Post's annual contest. Contestants create dioramas on any theme or topic they like, as long as it involves Peeps marshmallow candies.

Though Drybar did not land a slot among the Washington Post's winners, it ranked #15 in the "Peeple's Choice" contest as of Friday afternoon.

The diorama's creators, Barbara Martin, 42, and Erin McCahill, 43, of Bethesda, were part of the team that marketed Drybar when it first arrived in the DC area.

The Drybar diorama will be on display in Bethesda at 4840 Bethesda Avenue from about 3 p.m. Friday to mid-day Saturday. It will then move to the Georgetown Drybar location, 1825 Wisconsin Ave. NW, where it will remain through Sunday.

This year's winning diorama was “Peeps Mourn Their Peeps: Twinkie, Rest in Peeps,” submitted by Leslie Brown, 55, and Lani Hoza, 48, of Charlottesville.
