“I’ve watched [Wheel of Fortune] since I was a little kid – that’s how I learned letters and words and spelling,” Myers told Patch.

Myers was sure he hadn’t been selected for the show after three weeks passed following his audition in Washington, D.C.  But then, last month, he got the call asking if he could come out to Los Angeles to tape the show.

Myers got a tour of the studio and a quick tutorial on how to spin the famous wheel before the taping.

“The wheel is smaller than it looks on T.V. – it’s about seven feet across,” Myers said. “As a kid, I always assumed it was 10 or 12 feet across – it seemed huge.”

Myers also, of course, got a chance to meet famed television hostess Vanna White.

“Vanna came into dressing room and she was just as nice as can be,” Myers said. “She gave us some hints as to how to play the game.”

Myers' friends and colleagues at the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union have organized a watch party this evening in Bethesda. Myers knows the results of the game, of course, but his lips are sealed until the show airs.

“All my friends are asking me, ‘How did you do?’ ‘What happened?’ and I can’t tell them,” Myers said.  “It will be kind of a relief.”
