Get Out: Ideas for the Weekend of March 23

This weekend: performances on the sitar and guitar, a green living expo and more.

Where/When: (4714 Montgomery Ln., Bethesda, MD). Friday, March 23, from 5 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Join Caroline's Karma Crew for its Fourth Annual Multiple Sclerosis Happy Hour Fundraiser benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Walk MS 2012. A $5 donation will extend happy hour prices until 10 p.m. Raffle drawings for prizes and gift certificates will be donated by local businesses. All proceeds will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Why Go: Listen to classical Indian music performed by Josh Feinberg. The performance is presented by the Gandhi Memorial Center in the Golden Lotus Temple.

Price: $20.

 

Where/When: (1 Westmoreland Circle, Bethesda, MD). Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Irish musician John Feeley, known widely for his arrangements of traditional Irish music, will perform some of these arrangements, as well as his interpretations of the Bach Chaconne, other classics and some new works for the guitar.

Price: $25. Students 9 to 17 years old are free with an accompanying adult. Tickets for students 18 to 22 years old are $12.50.

 

Where/When: at Arlington Road and Bradley Boulevard, Chevy Chase, MD. Sunday, March 25, at 10 a.m.

Why Go: At the Cycle Expo, meet local bike shops and cycling-related vendors offering information on products, bike maintenance, training programs and more.

Price: Free.

 

Where/When: (6301 River Rd., Bethesda, MD). Sunday, March 25, at 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. (to 1:15 p.m.).

Why Go: The expo will feature representatives from Green Savings Coop, Clean Currents and Solar City. Susan Marinelli of the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection will discuss the county's online guide to living green, My Green Montgomery. Pepco will provide information on its smart meter program. A nourishing soup will be served for $2.
