Moms Talk: Let's Work It Out

Welcome back to Moms Talk, a feature that is part of a new initiative on our Patch sites to reach out to moms and families.

Each week in Moms Talk, our Moms Council of experts and smart moms take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community are all welcome to weigh in and use the discussion forum as a resource. This week, our discussion turns to getting that work out in.  I had a birthday recently and woke up to find myself deeply entrenched in those infamous "thirtysomethings".  What comes with the "thirtysomethings" someone in their twentysomethings might ask?  Kids, the residual baby gut from the kids, no time to work out, because of the kids, a plethora of snacks which really helps the gut.  You get the picture.

So, what to do about it?  I am actually lucky enough that there is a gym in my building at work.  So, I usually can sneak a couple of workouts a week in during my lunch.  But what about my girlfriends?  The ones who stay at home.  When do they get a workout in?  The ones who work outside of the home and then come home to spend time with their kids?  When do they get  a workout in? People have suggested working out with their kids.  I'm curious what kinds of workouts other people do with their kids.  Bike riding?  Running?  Tell me how old your kids are and what you do with them.
