UPDATE: Snow Storm Timeline: Weather in Montgomery County

Snow predictions as Winter Storm Advisory begins Monday at 5 a.m.

Get ready to have your morning commute disrupted if you live in Montgomery County.

At 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow for Montgomery County, in effect from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. (The Winter Storm Watch for Sunday is no longer in effect.)

Expect accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. Rain will mix with snow in the pre-dawn hours and eventually change over to all snow by sunrise Monday morning.

The heaviest snow is expected during Monday morning. Snow will move out of the area Monday afternoon. Expect temperatures to fall to the lower 30s Monday morning.

Roads could become snow-covered and slippery, making travel difficult during the Monday morning commute. Snow will reduce visibility to below a half-mile at times.
