This Weekend: What to Know if You're Taking Metro

Single-tracking on portions of the Red Line could lead to 15-minute delays.

This weekend, from 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, to closing on Sunday night, Red Line trains will single-track between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook Metro stations to allow for National Transportation Safety Board-recommended track circuit module replacement, according to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authorithy.

Red Line trains will also single-track between the New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue Metro stops for District Department of Transportation bridge work, between 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, and system closing on Sunday night, according to WMATA.

Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate between Shady Grove and Glenmont Metro stops every 16 minutes.
