Bethesda's Newest Gallery Joins Art Walk

Heading to this month? If so, you’ll get a first glimpse at Bethesda’s newest art gallery.

Gallery B, located in the former Fraser Gallery space on Wisconsin Avenue, will debut during Art Walk Oct. 14. The second Friday of the month, participating venues keep their doors open late to showcase the work of local, regional and national artists.

The new community gallery is operated by the and Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District, which solicited applications from local artists and art groups to show their work in the 1,500 square-foot exhibition space.

The first artist to exhibit at the community space is local sculptor and architect Mark Kramer, whose show “A Retrospective of Figurative Bronzes” includes bronze sculptures depicting Parisian cultural landmarks and artistic interpretations of astrological signs. Kramer, the founder of Kramer Architects, created the publicly-commissioned “Lyrical Lady” sculpture in downtown Bethesda.

An event showcasing the exhibit – and marking the opening of the gallery – will take place from 6-9p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in conjunction with Art Walk. Gallery B is located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Ste. E, in downtown Bethesda.
