Kiln Club 28th Annual Clearance Sale

The Kiln Club Summer clearance has hot art to tote home with handmade mugs, bowls, plates, vases, platters and more for sale.

Everything under the sun is on the table from artisan potters at this annual show in its 28th year. Beat the heat and join the rush; Eager shoppers pick through pottery at the stroke of 9 o'clock.

Sizzling savings of seconds -- a  perfectionist potter's critical eye can detect and reject a piece that is less than flawless because of glazing, form and other irregularities. Some of pots are simply a creative experiment, while others have nits that prevent it from being exhibit quality.  Buyers know these red hot specials are one-of-a-kind and snap them up for their collections.

With 30 potters clearing out their studio workshops to make room for creative pieces to come, there will be many red hot specials up for grabs with pieces priced as low at $5. These deals will go up in smoke, so stock up for the season ahead for holidays, celebrations and congratulations.

Stoneware and porcelain tableware are durable, fired at an excess of 2000° F resulting in dishwasher, microwave and oven-safe versatility. Summer selections of decorative and sculptural work will also be available.

Kiln Club is an organization of more than 90 Washington D.C. area artists working in the clay medium. Juried members exhibit themed shows every other month at the co-op run Scope Gallery in Alexandria's Torpedo Factory Art Center and members participate in sales in Bethesda, Md. in August and Great Falls, Va. in November.
