Dadblamed Union Army Cow—10:30 AM Ai-Ling Louie, children’s author and children’s librarian, will entertain the youngest civil war buffs with a story time program followed by a fun hands-on project—for ages 4+.

Songs and Stories of the Civil War—11:30 AM Patrick Lacefield, Civil War re-enactor and musician, shares songs and stories from the War Between the States, wearing both blue and grey, accompanying himself on guitar—for families.

Civil War Medicine—1:00 PM Tracey McIntire, master docent at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, will discuss the common ailments suffered by combatants and the injuries that they themselves inflicted—for families and adults.

Women in Disguise—2:00 PM Tracey McIntire, a re-enactor with the 4th Maryland Light Artillery, CSA, and staff member of the Civil War Trust, discusses the role of women in disguise in military drills, battle tactics and camp life—for families and adults.

The Civil War in the Capital Area—3:00 PM William M. Offutt, author of Bethesda: A Social History, examines the impact of the war on Montgomery County and those who fought and suffered through it.  Local civil war sites covered include slides of forts in the Northwest Washington D.C. area—for families and adults.
